Contra Studios
I was on set at Contra for a TV shoot when the owner and I got to talking. He mentioned the studio was doing fine but leads were inconsistent — some months were packed, others were quiet, and he had no real sense of what was actually driving inquiries. In New York, studios are a dime a dozen. If you're not showing up in the right places at the right time, someone else is getting the booking.
I took a look at his analytics and ads and it was pretty clear where the gaps were. Money going to keywords that weren't converting, third-party venue platforms that weren't delivering, and no clean way to track which activity was actually generating leads.
We tightened everything up — keyword research, SEO, Google Ads optimization, ad copy, channel strategy, and Google Analytics so we could finally see what was working and cut what wasn't. Part of that was knowing which third-party venue sites were worth being on and which ones to walk away from. We also added a digital walkthrough of the space and made it much clearer that the studio was available for events — something that had been undersold and was leaving money on the table.
The result was a steadier, more predictable flow of inbound leads from the channels that actually moved the needle.
Results:
Lead generation increased by 38%
Google Ads CTR averaged 8–9%
Event inquiry jumped 20% after clarifying the studio's event capabilities and adding the digital walkthrough
